The FSM Research Cores program is offering funds on a competitive basis for investigators to use one of the following core facilities:

· Behavioral Phenotyping Core
· Human Embryonic and Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Facility
· NUgene
· Rodent Metabolism Phenotyping Core

The goals of the program are two-fold:

· To raise awareness about strategically important but undersubscribed facilities,
· To support pilot projects that may lead to funding for future work in these facilities.

Awards will be made in August 2011 and must be spent on core services before February 29th, 2012. The competition is open to (relatively) new users only - to be eligible the PI cannot have spent more than $1000 in the core to which they are applying in fiscal years 2010 and 2011 combined (i.e. since September 1, 2009). Applicants may request up to $2500 for any core except NUgene, for which the maximum award is $5000.

The application form can be downloaded from:

http://www.feinberg.northwestern.edu/research/cores/about/pilotfunding

Applications are due by July 29th, 2011.
