Dear Dicty Stock Center Users,

After a long wait, we are finally ready to charge for your DSC orders by credit card payment through a secure online form.

As you know, payers have an account in NU Core, the Northwestern billing system. All your standing credit card orders will be billed in the next days. Since credit card payment at Northwestern involves an external financial service contract, each credit card payment is subject to a 3.5% service charge. We have very low stock fees for our services and we hope this extra credit card charge does not deter you from paying by those means.

Also, from now on we will NOT accept PO numbers if this requires a bureaucratic procedure that takes months and many people to solve. For example, if Northwestern needs to be added as a vendor into an institution’s payment system, the administrative hurdles and countless emails with customers over-stretches our small team.

In sum, we hope that from now on most customers will use their institutional Credit - or Pro Card, which will reduce our administrative burden for DSC payments by at least 50% and thus leaves us more time to keep strains well maintained, accept submissions, and annotate the database. It will hopefully also be the easiest way for customers to pay their DSC charges.
