Subject: [DICTY] Announcing the Dictyostelium Community Resource (DCR)
Colleagues,
We are delighted to announce that dictyBase and the Dicty Stock Center have now been united under a new support mechanism from the NIH/NIGMS. Since their inception, dictyBase and the DSC have been supported via a “research grant” mechanism (R01) that was a poor match for the services we provide and that sometimes challenged reviewers. We are now supported through a “community resource” mechanism (R24). This mechanism aligns well with the services we provide, allows us to obtain funding on a five year cycle instead of the four year cycle the prior grants provided. We are rebranding the new combined resource as the “Dictyostelium Community Resource—DCR”. Thanks to many of you the DCR is now funded through 2025.
We look forward to continuing to serve the community!
