Dear Chris,

We have been using the Formedium HL-5 without glucose and supplementing
with a molecular biology grade D-glucose. We get a deep caramel almost
brown color after autoclaving. I have not run any doubling time
experiments but the AX2 cells reach confluence within 4-5 days with this
media vs. 5-6 days with our older homemade HL-5. And some of the growth
curves that I have done also tend to show slightly higher numbers with
shorter time points.

The media used does seem to have an influence on the growth of AX2 cells.
AX2 cells grow slower in the FM-vitamin supplemented media extended the
growth curves out at least 24-36 hours vs the HL-5 media in our lab.

Hope this is helpful.

Best regards,
