The ASRSP Cash team applies payments, processes rebates, and collects overdue debts for Northwestern’s sponsored projects. In FY23, the Cash team deposited 6,970 payments in NUFinancials, helping maintain the cash flow for sponsored research activity. Assistant Director Tameka Jackson, along with Accounting Coordinators Tanya Brown and Paula Wong, manages the daily cash operations.
Payment Instructions
The Cash Management page on the ASRSP website includes instructions for sponsor payments made via check or electronic fund transfer. This information has also been compiled into a
quick reference guide for sharing directly with sponsors. It is essential that sponsored project payments contain identifying information as described in the instructions.
Unapplied Payments: Request for Assistance
Currently, the Cash team is conducting a comprehensive review of unapplied payments. Payments remain unapplied when their corresponding project cannot be determined. The cause of this backlog is insufficient information from the sponsor when payment is submitted to the University.
